Dear Mark Williams, thank you and go FORK YOURSELF.

Memo to tebaggers. Thanks to me, we are officially racist assholes. Thanks for the money.

    signed,

    Mark Williams

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Mark Williams for proving beyond the shadow of a doubt that the astroturfed tea party movement is also a white supremacy movement. From now on, whenever anybody cries FOUL at the idea that teabaggers are motivated by racial hatred and a sense of white superiority, liberals now have an easy two word answer, and that answer is "Mark Williams."

   So thank you for that.

As already detailed by David Waldman today in his piece How to not dispel the sense that you're a bunch of insane racists , Mark Williams, teabagger spokeswizard (you have to act like a compassionate human being to be referred to as one in my book), in response to the charges that some teabaggers are racist and the tea party movement is largely tolerant of racial intolerance aimed at non-whites, released this mock letter to President Abraham Lincoln, asking to reinstate slavery on behalf of the once enslaved minority group to which Mark Williams does not belong.

The offensive letter that should end Mark Williams career, but will not, is reposted here.

Dear Mr. Lincoln

We Coloreds have taken a vote and decided that we don't cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us Colored People and we demand that it stop!

In fact we held a big meeting and took a vote in Kansas City this week. We voted to condemn a political revival of that old abolitionist spirit called the 'tea party movement'.

The tea party position to "end the bailouts" for example is just silly. Bailouts are just big money welfare and isn't that what we want all Coloreds to strive for? What kind of racist would want to end big money welfare? What they need to do is start handing the bail outs directly to us coloreds! Of course, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is the only responsible party that should be granted the right to disperse the funds.

And the ridiculous idea of "reduce[ing] the size and intrusiveness of government." What kind of massa would ever not want to control my life? As Coloreds we must have somebody care for us otherwise we would be on our own, have to think for ourselves and make decisions!

The racist tea parties also demand that the government "stop the out of control spending." Again, they directly target coloreds. That means we Coloreds would have to compete for jobs like everybody else and that is just not right.

Perhaps the most racist point of all in the tea parties is their demand that government "stop raising our taxes." That is outrageous! How will we coloreds ever get a wide screen TV in every room if non-coloreds get to keep what they earn? Totally racist! The tea party expects coloreds to be productive members of society?

Mr. Lincoln, you were the greatest racist ever. We had a great gig. Three squares, room and board, all our decisions made by the massa in the house. Please repeal the 13th and 14th Amendments and let us get back to where we belong.

Sincerely

Precious Ben Jealous, Tom's Nephew NAACP Head Colored Person

signed, racist honky asshole

New rule: anyone who uses the word "Coloreds" is obviously a racist asshole, a teabagger, a Republican congressional candidate, or all of the above.

Yes, teabaggers can gargle my oysters. All of them.

As to why Mark Williams can go FORK himself and with what phallic shaped object would suit him best, please go below the fold for more.

Learn to Speak Teabag Cartoonist Mark Fiore Wins Pulitzer!

by: Curtis Abbey

Tue Apr 13, 2010 at 12:53:12 PM CDT

link Mark Fiore, whose animated cartoons appear on The San Francisco Chronicle's Web site, was thunderstruck by the announcement that he had won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning. It was the first time that the prize was given to an artist whose work did not appear in print. The Pulitzer jury noted Mr. Fiore's "biting wit, extensive research and ability to distill complex issues set a high standard for an emerging form of commentary." Since 2001, Mr. Fiore, 40, has made animated video cartoons for SFGate.com. His winning entry included cartoons about skepticism toward climate change, credit card regulation reform and the political realities facing President Obama.

GOP House Rep thinks Bush might have caused 9/11

by: MinistryOfTruth

Wed Feb 17, 2010 at 22:54:49 PM CST

If Republicans and Fox News pundits were embarrassed about looking like birthers, loony bins and white supremacists, well, they just got a whole lot more to worry about.

Recently, a truther organization called "We Are The Change" spoke to Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) - a friend of (Glenn) Beck and a frequent guest on his show - about reopening an investigation into 9/11. Chaffetz agreed with the activist, and even noted that he had spoken to professor Steven Jones, leading 9/11 truther, who Chaffetz said had done "interesting work"

Good afternoon, Progressive Electorate readers and happy Darwin Day. This is your afternoon open thread to discuss all things Hill-related. Use this thread to praise or bash Congresscritters, share a juicy tip, ask questions, offer critiques and suggestions, or post manifestos. We'll be here all weekend.

It seems the snow has shifted south and now Atlanta is getting hit. I guess this means we can completely stop all efforts to cap carbon emissions, or something.

Meanwhile, the Winter Olympics kick off tonight. Too bad there's no snow in Vancouver. Anyway, good luck to Robel Teklemariam, Ethiopia's best (okay, only) hope for a medal in skiing. I wonder if they are getting snow in Addis Ababa. In sad news, thoughts and prayers to the family of Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luger who died today.

#1 Barney Frank Wants Hearings On Geithner's Role in AIG Overpayments

Representative Barney Frank said the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's 2008 order to American International Group Inc. (AIG) to suppress disclosures of bank payments is "troubling" and he supports hearings on the issue.

Frank retains confidence in Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who led the New York Fed at the time, he said today in a Bloomberg Television interview. The U.S. House last month passed legislation that would prevent the Fed from having the power to bail out companies such as AIG, he said.

#3 The Second Phase by Jeffrey Feldman

Over the past few weeks I have done quite a bit of reading trying to understand what is happening in the progressive wing of the Democratic Party--in order to offer some perspective.

So far, the most helpful text I have come across is Martin Luther King's Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?

I want to encourage everyone to take a minute to consider this text as a reflection not just on the specifics of the dilemma the Civil Rights movement faced in the year following the signing of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, but as a more general insight into the problems the progressive movement now faces one year after the election of Barack Obama.

This is a problem MLK called the "Second Phase."

#4 As voters return to the polls at the end of the year we may want to remind them that the Republican party has done nothing for this country in the last 20 years. Chris Matthews reminds us of that in this segment with Republican strategist Todd Harris.

Tonights MNF games is the Tennessee Titans against the Houston Texans. I've got Steve Slaton on my fantasy team and the guy I'm playing has Andre Johnson, both are on the Texans. I need Slaton to get 9.5 pts more than Johnson to win my matchup. How's your fantasy matchup doing? Any thoughts on tonight's game?

BRUSSELS - For 23 torturous years, Rom Houben says he lay trapped in his paralyzed body, aware of what was going on around him but unable to tell anyone or even cry out.

The car-crash victim had been diagnosed as being in a vegetative state but appears to have been conscious the whole time. An expert using a specialized type of brain scan that was not available in the 1980s finally realized it, and unlocked Houben's mind again.

The 46-year-old Houben is now communicating with one finger and a special touchscreen on his wheelchair.

"Powerlessness. Utter powerlessness. At first I was angry, then I learned to live with it," he said

Baggin' The Tea Baggers In Nevada

by: Curtis Abbey

Sun Nov 22, 2009 at 16:30:31 PM CST

A new friend of mine on Facebook Marla Turner gave me her permission to repost some pictures from a counter protest to a Tea Party rally in Las Vegas.

The comment below is hers, I was not there but I wish I could have been. Great job counter protestors! Harry Reid certainly delivered yesterday.

11-21-09: Counter demonstration at the tea baggers' demonstration; they were protesting the senate's version of the health insurance reform bill. They were way bigger than us, but hey, that's what happens when you offer to bus people in from all over the country to come to Vegas.

Never in my life have I met such hateful people. Never in my life have I been spit on, pushed, shoved, heckled, told to "burn in hell", or had people try to tear materials out of my hands. I heard screams of "White Pride" and "God Hates Commies". These same people were wearing their crosses and quoting bible verses.

And yes, we even saw some of the infamous "Psalm 109" signs.

It's kind of amusing in a way. They would say stupid stuff like, "So, you want that commie healthcare, huh? You want to ruin America, huh?" So we'd say, "Well, give us your alternative". And they'd say, "Burn in hell".

I had to laugh. That's it? That's your best argument? Wow.

#1 Asinus Asinum Fricat is back to blogging and has a great post up at La Vida Locavore called Tales From The Larder Olive The Empress of Oil Part 1
Homer called it "liquid gold." Olive oil has been more than mere food to us Mediterraneans: it's our way of life. The olive tree, symbol of abundance, glory and peace, gave its leafy branches to crown the victorious in both friendly games and bloody war. Olive crowns and olive branches, ancient emblems of benediction and purifiation, were ritually offered to deities and powerful figures but it is only in recent times that modern scientific research has proven over and over what the peasant wisdom knew a long time ago: its wonderful taste and health properties.

#2 52% of people are wildly misinformed about who would win a fight between an army of bears and an army of gorillas. This made me LOL so hard the other night

#3 Small Town To Liz Cheney: We Want Gitmo Detainees, Not Your Fearmongering

Is Stupid The New Sexy?

by: mr_reed_45

Thu Nov 19, 2009 at 21:07:30 PM CST

(Warning: Language may be inappropriate for younger readers or impressionable ex Governors from Alaska, but It cracked me up!   - promoted by Curtis Abbey)

And if so, did I miss the memo?  Anyone else get it?  Ah yes.  The Tea Party folk sure as hell did.  They some sexy beasts.  Last year, Websters Word of the Year was "bailout".  I have a few recommendations for this years Word of The Year, "crazy", "insane", "loony", and last but not least, "fucktard".  Really, has there ever been a year when as much Bat Shit Crazy has dominated that news and airwaves as it has this year.  Its like instead of giving a glance in the mirror to see how you look, a person now glances in the mirror and asks themselves, "how fucking dumb can I be today".   The answer has been an astounding, "YOU CAN BE VERY DUMB".  It is infectious too.  Typical, normal, down to earth people are now getting slimed by the ignorance.  I walk away from about 60% of my day to day conversations wondering if I got any on me.  Stupidity that is.  It sure is hard being a not dumb person these days.  I miss the days of old, when a person would use they're brain for something other then a hat rack, a Rolodex of how to try to compare an American Presidency to the Nazi's and Hitler, and how to creatively incorporate a picture of dead bodies piled up into a poster for a Health Care protest.  We are on the fast tract to wacked the fuck out, and there appears to be no slowing us down.
